ABOUT US

BioFilm Control is a French biotech company with expertise in microbiota and biofilm, founded in 2005 by Doctor Thierry Bernardi.

Our microbiology laboratory is located in France, at two sites, in Paris and Clermont-Ferrand. We work with R&D laboratories, marketing departments and the hygiene and quality departments in many types of industries, to help them characterise and optimise the activity of their products on microorganisms.

In addition to managing classic microbiology techniques, BioFilm Control has developed a unique and patented proprietary technology for analysing different types of biofilms from the early stages of their formation: the BioFilm Ring Test®. BioFilm Control thus possesses unique know-how making it possible to address all issues related to microbiota and biofilm.

Our expertise is offered in the form of customised services, reproducing real conditions of use as closely as possible, in order to support projects at all levels of development.

The Management Team

President & Founder

Thierry Bernardi

Thierry BERNARDI is the founder of BioFilm Control and the inventor of the BioFilm Ring Test®. He has co-authored 15 publications and 12 patents concerning the BioFilm Ring Test® technology. Prior to founding BioFilm Control, he held several R&D and business development positions in start-ups and multinational companies. In 1991, he received his Pharm.D. from the University of Montpellier (France).

CEO

David Suissa

An expert in perfumes, cosmetics and new technologies, David Suissa is a Polytechnician and an engineer of the Corps des Mines. In 2004, he founded and ran Scentys until 2021, a French industrial company specialized in airborne fragrance systems for various industries such as cosmetics, automotive and aeronautics.

Director of Operations

Laure Nivlet-Barbier

With a double competency in Science and management of innovative projects, Laure Nivlet-Barbier has held various positions in business development and innovation financing. Laure will join BioFilm Control in July 2021, to participate in the growth of the company and the development of its R&D projects.

Laboratory/Microbiology Manager

Stéphanie Badel-Berchoux

Following a PhD in Biochemistry-Microbiology, Stéphanie Badel-Berchoux joined BioFilm Control in 2011. In charge of the laboratory and a team of 8 people, she is also your privileged contact for all your service requests. Stéphanie has studied the impact of exopolymers in the structuring of biofilms and specializes in the relationship between the composition of microbiota and their biofilms.
